Writing Refresher: Format, Style & Grammar for Today's Workplace

This program takes a practical approach to writing at work by focusing on advanced tactics for getting things done through written communication. Instruction focuses on techniques that apply equally well to e-mails, proposals, letters, and reports. Participants will learn how to get readers' positive attention and obtain noticeably better results from all kinds of on-the-job writing. All key techniques will be practiced in a fast-paced, supportive workshop environment. Because the program focuses on functionality and results, not educational level, it is equally appropriate for executive and front-line participants.
Participants in this workshop will learn to:

- Organize written material logically, with the reader's needs in mind

- Practice techniques for writing that is concise, positive, professional, and correct
- Target materials for readers at various levels of expertise and authority
- Recognize and correct the most common grammar errors
- Update their knowledge of punctuation, mechanics, and nonsexist language
- Use commonly accepted practices for e-mail formatting, etiquette, and style
