PC/Network  Protection: Spyware & Viruses

This workshop gives users an overview of the security risks to their PCs and networks, and explore the available countermeasures. Virtually every PC is at risk if they have Internet connectivity, especially in the context of an always-on or broadband access services (such as cable or  DSL), as well as the traditional dial-up.  

Major topics will include:

  • malicious software i.e.; Viruses, Spy-ware, Pop-ups and E-mail Spam and what to do to prevent these attacks. 
  • Explore different Anti-virus software and Anti Spy-ware 
  • In addition, learn about Child protection software a
  • How to develop a policy for personal and small office home office (SOHO) systems.
