The Center for Business and Technology at Springfield Technical Community College has partnered with an ANSI-RAB Accredited training and consulting group to build a program that enables companies to achieve ISO 9000 certification without the overwhelming expense through the consortium approach.  This collaborative approach has proven successful in helping many companies throughout the country achieve ISO 9000 registration.

The training program is designed for area companies seeking initial ISO certification or an upgrade of their existing certification to the ISO 9001:2000 standard.  The benefits of the consortium approach are:

  • Reduced the costs for training and registration since consortium companies share the cost for training
  • Discounts on Registrar fees
  • Trainees learn to apply the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Systems Standards in an industry-diverse environment that emphasizes peer support

What is ISO 9000 All About?

As the world moves towards a global economy, the issue of a worldwide quality standard for suppliers of goods and services becomes critical.  ISO 9000 is a set of internationally recognized standards that provides the necessary framework to achieve quality of goods and services to boost customer satisfaction.

These internationally accepted standards have been integrated into the quality system requirements of such governmental bodies as the Department of Defense, NASA, and the FDA's Good Manufacturing Practices for medical devices.

The true benefit of ISO 9000 is that it integrates all processes within a company.  Through such integration, companies can become more efficient, improve communication, reduce scrap and rework, and increase customer satisfaction.  ISO 9000 also helps you to gain product acceptance in international markets.
